L’EXPAT is a dance solo about leaving, returning and living between several cultures. Salim Mzé Hamadi Moissi draws on his own experience of having lived away from home and, after returning, searching again for a relationship with his roots. With humour, energy and precise physical work, he opens questions of identity, belonging and cultural memory. The performance speaks about crossing borders, returning home and how, after years spent outside one’s own culture, a person’s relationship to the place they come from changes.
Practical Information
The performance will be presented on the same evening as Oulouy: BLACK, as part of the AFRICA MOMENT programme. The ticket is valid for both performances.
The performance on 15 October is sold out. Due to high demand, we have added an additional performance on 16 October at 8:00 PM.

Salim Mzé Hamadi Moissi
Also known as Seush, Salim Mzé Hamadi is a dancer, choreographer, artistic director, and one of the leading figures of contemporary creation emerging from the Comoros Islands. Founder of Compagnie TcheZa, he has played a pivotal role in the development of contemporary dance in the archipelago, creating a distinctive stage language that blends urban dance, contemporary dance, and Comorian cultural heritage.
His work transforms tradition and modernity into pieces of remarkable physical and expressive intensity, where embodied memory, identity, cultural transmission, and the political and social dynamics of our time converge. Through an athletic choreographic writing deeply rooted in his homeland, his creations place the Comoros Islands and the Indian Ocean at the centre of global artistic and intellectual discourse.
Internationally recognised, he has participated in numerous residencies, educational projects, and collaborations across Africa, Europe, and the Indian Ocean region, mentoring and supporting new generations of artists. His works have been presented at renowned venues and festivals such as the Amphithéâtre Olivier Messiaen at the Opéra Bastille (Paris), Théâtre de Suresnes Jean Vilar, Théâtre de Pierrefonds (La Réunion), Théâtre Cinéma de Choisy-le-Roi, Salle Juliette Gréco during the Cannes Dance Festival, Centre Pompidou Málaga, and Centre d’Arts Santa Mònica in Barcelona.
