AFTER ALL Is death a celebration of our vulnerable and courageous existence?
V diele AFTER ALL sa Solène Weinachter prostredníctvom tanca, divadla a hovoreného monológu s humorným nadhľadom pýta, ako sa vyrovnávame s koncom života. Hravo, priamočiaro a duchaplne zdieľa s divákmi rôzne formy minulých a súčasných pohrebných rituálov, uvažuje o podobe tých budúcich. Choreografia je vydareným pokusom vytvoriť priestor, v ktorom môžeme spoločne hľadať spôsob, ako prijať stratu a zamyslieť sa nad konečnosťou ľudskej existencie. AFTER ALL vytvára priestor, v ktorom sa smútok a spomienka stretávajú s otvorenosťou, zvedavosťou a dokonca aj radosťou.

ABOUT THE PIECE
AFTER ALL is a show about death. It is a celebration of our vulnerable and courageous existence using dance, theatre, storytelling and comedy to ask: how do we deal with the end?
By exploring various funeral rites – ones we have, ones we have lost, and those yet to be invented – choreographer Solène Weinachter confronts our transition between worlds head-on. AFTER ALL is a hopeful attempt to conjure a better sort of space for us to be with loss and collectively contemplate the finite nature of our lives.

SOLÈNE WEINACHTER
Solène Weinachter is a choreographer and performer based between Scotland and France. Her artistic practice is rooted in the intersection between dance, theatre, story telling, laughter and (what could be perceived as) uncomfortable conversations.
Solène trained in the regional conservatoire of Lyon and pursued her training at London Contemporary Dance School where she obtained a BA(Hons) and an MA in contemporary dance and performance. Her interest as a performer deeply informs her choreographic work. It is rooted in the connection with the audience and how that liveness specifically shapes every show. Movement in relation to her physical and narrative voice have been in the centre of her work since 2013.
As a rehearsal director, a performer or a creative collaborator, Solène works with a wide range of dance and physical theatre companies in Europe including OD Works, Scottish Dance Theatre, Lost Dog, Joan Clevillé, Gecko and Vera Tussing. She is also a founding member of Collective Endeavours, a Glasgow-based intergenerational music & dance improvisation collective that performs in non-conventional spaces.
