Natural Order of Things We are nature – and it lives within us
Inspired by Charles Darwin’s reflections on the wondrous complexity of life, Guy Nader and Maria Campos created Natural Order of Things.
Nine dancers transform the stage into a living organism – a constantly evolving, self-reorganizing entity that responds to its surroundings. Through cyclical movement and rhythmic precision, a hypnotic world unfolds, where the body becomes a landscape and sound a memory.
The latest creation by Guy Nader and Maria Campos has received seven nominations at Spain’s prestigious MAX Awards, including Best Dance Performance, Best Choreography, Best Set Design, Best Lighting Design (Conchita Pons), as well as Best Female Performance (Joana Couto and Maria Campos) and Best Male Performance (Alfonso López Aguilar and Guy Nader). It has also been nominated for the Critic’s Award – Premis de la Crítica in the category of Best Performance.
From the MAX Awards, the creators ultimately took home the following prizes:
🏆 Best Choreography
🏆 Best Female Performance – Maria Campos
🏆 Best Male Performance – Alfonso Aguilar

ABOUT THE PIECE
“We cannot fathom the wondrous complexity of an organic being, every living creature must be seen as a microcosm, a tiny universe made up of a multitude of self-propagating organisms, inconceivably tiny and as numerous as the stars in the sky.” Charles Darwin
After a long journey of research and investigation on the notion of time during the last years that resulted in the trilogy of TIME TAKES THE TIME TIME TAKES in 2015, SET OF SETS in 2018 and MADE OF SPACE in 2021, Guy and Maria now reflect and research about natural phenomena as a need to understand the universe around us, reminding ourselves that we are part of the nature, furthermore that “we are nature”.
Inspired by the notion of order disorder, we look into the complexity of self-organizing
systems in nature, seen as a microcosmos, as a tiny universe made up of a multitude of self-propagating organisms. We will reveal ourselves as an invented organism that manifests itself as a resistance to the loss of order and the tendency to chaos, reorganizing itself in a genius and harmonic way.
Like particles that move in extreme perfection and precision, yet random and unpredictable, this piece is the physical output of a research that embodies group behavior where everyone in the system moves and organizes itself as a coherent organism. Employing repetitive and cyclical movement patterns, the group evokes a hypnotic atmosphere that alters our visual perception transforming it into a landscape of living entities.
In this piece for 9 dancers accompanied by the music composition by Coti K, the performers will dig into physical and sound material to materialize, give a consistency to the invented organism and geometric systems. The imperceptible traces that sound and movement leave in space, become here the material to generate multiple imaginaries, polyrhythms, resonances, common and singular trajectories.
Between playfulness and genuineness, control and precision, oscillate the encounters between the dancers where all the elements entail a radical involvement and physical concentration as a process that yearns for perfection without ever reaching it, because it reminds us that the limits of the body are set by the body itself. The extreme physicality, the exhaustion, the order and chaos arecathartic.
As an ode to life and its fragile atmosphere, this is an attempt to reassure our statement as a protest through beauty and harmony as the only way to reconnect to nature and restore balance. We can regain perspective even in the greatest challenges through survival and recognition of the beauty, purpose, and perceptible patterns in the universe and in nature. An attempt to imagine what weare made of, a mass of kinetic possibilities.

GN|MC GUY NADER | MARIA CAMPOS
GN|MC GUY NADER | MARIA CAMPOS is an independent ensemble based in Barcelona, Spain. The Lebanese and Spanish artists collaborate together since 2006, their choreographic work continues to find exposure through international festivals and venues around the globe. GN|MC have been invited as guest choreographers to create for different companies such as EnKnapGroup in Slovenia, Eva Duda Dance Company/Movein Mission in Hungary, Tanzmainz company in Germany and XieXin Dance Theatre in Shanghai, China. GN|MC has been awarded the German theatre prize DER FAUST 2017 for their work FALL SEVEN TIMES created with Tanzmainz, Staatstheater Mainz in Germany and GN|MC received the Prize City of Barcelona 2019 for their artistic research. The practice that GN|MC has been developing over the years, investigates aspects on the principles of physics and continues to expand, evolving towards the exploration of an extremely detailed time-space composition. Together they have drawn a common interest in the partnering work where they research new ways of approaching the relation between two or more bodies, developing strategies and tasks in order to provide the body a distinct image and perception. Both look for a high demanding physicality aiming to push the body into its limits. Seeking strength and delicacy in movement. Their work is based on rigorous movement research in relation to weight, space, time and group dynamics, where the body is at the same time the subject, the object and the tools of its own knowledge.
